Warner Bros. has shifted its special-forces action film F.A.S.T. from 23 April 2027 to 14 May 2027, giving the project a early-summer berth instead of a late-spring slot. Deadline

The move pulls F.A.S.T. out of a crowded weekend. Its former 23 April date also has Amazon MGM Studios' Spaceballs: The New One and Neon's Chloé Dumont thriller A Place in Hell. On 14 May, F.A.S.T. is currently the only major studio wide release — meaning it faces no direct franchise competition on that frame, at least for now.

F.A.S.T. follows a former special forces commando recruited by the DEA to lead a black-op strike team against CIA-protected drug dealers. The screenplay is by Taylor Sheridan, the writer behind the Yellowstone television universe and films including Sicario and Hell or High Water. Sheridan also produces alongside Jenny Wood through their Bosque Ranch Productions banner, with David Heyman and Jeffrey Clifford producing through Heyday Films. Deadline

The cast is stacked. Brandon Sklenar, known to audiences from the Yellowstone prequel series 1923 and the 2024 adaptation of It Ends With Us, leads the ensemble. For Warner Bros., the date change is a scheduling play. Mid-May has historically been a launchpad for big genre and action titles as the summer movie season gets under way — the period when studios aim for peak audience traffic before schools close and competition intensifies through June and July. By claiming 14 May now, the studio positions F.A.S.T. as a potential early-summer title rather than a spring release fighting for screens.
