Ubisoft has released patch 1.0.6 for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced across PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and the headline feature is one players have been asking for: you can finally hide Edward Kenway's blowpipe.

The blowpipe — a weapon the pirate protagonist carries on his character model at all times — drew complaints for poking through outfits and ruining the look of certain costumes. Ubisoft's official patch notes led with the fix, stating simply: "The Blowpipe Can Now Be Hidden." The company said it added the option in response to player feedback: "We saw your feedback," the notes read (Ubisoft). To use it, players open the inventory screen, hover over an outfit and press R2 on PlayStation or RT on Xbox to select "Hide Gear" (Eurogamer).

The patch packs in more than cosmetic relief. Autosave slots have doubled from five to ten, giving players a deeper safety net before the game overwrites old saves. A new tutorial explains how to throw money — a mechanic that lets Edward toss coins to distract crowds — and a range of bug fixes touches various parts of the game without specific detail in the notes (Eurogamer).

Download sizes vary sharply depending on platform. Steam players need as little as 1.8GB, while Xbox owners face a download as large as 15.2GB for the same update (Eurogamer).

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is a ground-up remake of 2013's Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, rebuilt on the latest version of Ubisoft's Anvil engine.
