The album arrives with a considerable guest list. Big Freedia — the New Orleans bounce artist who has collaborated with Beyoncé and Drake — opens the record with "A Creole Culture Intro." Durand Bernarr joins Richard on the track "Baby, Can We?" Richard also recruited vocalists Anjelika "Jelly" Joseph and Tarriona "Tank" Ball of Tank and the Bangas, two New Orleans artists whose profiles rose through the city's tight-knit live circuit.

One name on the credits carries family weight: Frank Richard, Dawn's father, who played in Chocolate Milk, the funk and soul group that charted in the 1970s and 1980s. His presence on the album places Dawn Richard's creole inheritance in a direct line, not as a theme she is reaching for but one she grew up inside.

Richard worked on Creole Culture alongside Katalyst, a musical collective, according to Rolling Stone.
