Warner Records is relaunching Reprise Records, the label Frank Sinatra founded in 1960, with longtime A&R executive Jeff Sosnow at the helm as president. Sosnow, appointed in December 2024, will lead the reboot while continuing as executive VP of A&R at Warner Records, the parent label that has owned Reprise since 1963. Billboard

The relaunch brings a serious roster with it. Reprise will be home to Green Day, Neil Young, My Chemical Romance, Weezer, Deftones, Michael Bublé, Josh Groban, Billy Strings, Brandy Clark, Rufus du Sol and The Linda Lindas, according to Billboard. Neil Young's presence on the label is the through-line here: he has been on the Reprise roster since 1969, a tenure spanning nearly six decades.

Sosnow's track record gives the relaunch its commercial logic. Over the past dozen-plus years he has signed Benson Boone, Rufus du Sol, Nessa Barrett, Billy Strings, Brandy Clark and The Neighbourhood to the Warner Records roster — several of those artists now sit under the Reprise banner. New albums from Billy Strings, Weezer, The Linda Lindas and Neil Young are in preparation, along with a run of shows by Rufus du Sol.

Sosnow's appointment falls under the purview of Warner Records co-chairman and CEO Aaron Bay-Schuck and co-chairman and COO Tom Corson. Corson has also been named chief operating officer of Warner Music Group, the parent company, adding a corporate layer above the label-group structure — the corporate umbrella that houses Warner Records, Atlantic and other imprints.

For a general-audience reader, the A&R role is worth a quick gloss: A&R, short for "artists and repertoire," is the department that finds, signs and develops recording artists. Sosnow keeping that role at Warner while running Reprise means the same person scouting talent for the parent label is also shaping the revived imprint.

For fans, the practical upshot is straightforward: albums are coming from established names and newer signings alike, on a label with a deep catalogue and a clear identity. Sinatra built Reprise as an artist-friendly outfit where performers retained ownership of their masters — the original recordings from which all copies and streams derive. How much of that founding philosophy carries into the relaunch will become visible in deal terms, not press releases. What is confirmed is the roster, the leadership, and the release schedule. The rest is the music.
