Bailee Madison and Deon Cole are joining the ensemble of Grown Ups 3, the Netflix comedy that brings Adam Sandler back together with his original co-stars, according to Deadline.

David Spade, Rob Schneider, Chris Rock, Kevin James and Salma Hayek are all set to return alongside Sandler,Deadline reported on 6 August 2026. The film continues a franchise built on a simple premise: childhood friends, now adults, reunite for a summer holiday — the first two films gathered them over the Fourth of July weekend with their wives in tow, as Netflix's own Tudum newsroom describes it.

Plot details for the third instalment remain under wraps. Netflix confirmed the project was moving forward at its upfronts presentation in May 2026, with Kyle Newacheck attached to direct. Newacheck's prior collaboration with Sandler carries some weight: Happy Gilmore 2, on which he worked, set a Nielsen record of 2.89 billion minutes viewed in its first week of release. The script comes from Sandler himself and Tim Herlihy, his long-time writing partner.

Sandler produces alongside Jackie Sandler, Jack Giarraputo and Tim Herlihy, with Kevin Grady and Judit Maull serving as executive producers. A release date has not yet been announced.

For Madison, the casting deepens an already steady relationship with Sandler's orbit. She most recently appeared opposite Sadie Sandler in the Netflix comedy Roommates, and her earlier credits include Just Go With It, also a Sandler film. She broke through as a child actor in Bridge to Terabithia before appearing in Brothers opposite Tobey Maguire and Jake Gyllenhaal, and more recently starred in the Pretty Little Liars spin-off Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin. She is repped by UTA and TFC Management.

Cole arrives from a different lane. A veteran stand-up with three Netflix specials to his name — Ok, Mister, Charleen's Boy and Cole Hearted — his acting profile rose after he landed the title role in the BET+ series Average Joe. He was most recently seen in The Madness opposite Colman Domingo and as Don King in the biographical film Michael. He is repped by WME and Ames Hashagen Entertainment.

The casting news narrows the gap between Netflix's May confirmation and a fuller picture of the ensemble. As of 13 May, the streamer's Tudum page noted only that the cast had not yet been announced and that the original five stars were attached; a Yahoo Entertainment report on 5 August similarly noted that the full cast beyond the returning five had yet to be revealed. Madison and Cole are now the first new additions confirmed.

For fans of the franchise, that means the reunion table is getting bigger — and with Newacheck, the Sandler-Herlihy writing partnership and a streaming audience that turned Happy Gilmore 2 into a record-setter, Grown Ups 3 has the pieces in place. When it lands on screens is a question Netflix has yet to answer.
