The gang is back. Netflix confirmed on 6 August 2026 that Grown Ups 3 is now in production in New Jersey, with Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, Rob Schneider, Maya Rudolph, Maria Bello and Salma Hayek Pinault all reprising their roles from the earlier films (The Hollywood Reporter).

Netflix shared the news through a cast group photo posted on Instagram with the caption, "The gang's all back for GROWN UPS 3! Now in production." Sandler posted his own image from the set with a simple message: "We missed you!" (The Hollywood Reporter).

Kyle Newacheck is directing, reteaming with Sandler after Happy Gilmore 2, which set viewing records for the streamer. The script comes from Sandler and his longtime writing partner Tim Herlihy. Sandler, Herlihy, Jackie Sandler and Jack Giarraputo produce, with Kevin Grady and Judit Maull as executive producers (The Hollywood Reporter; Netflix Tudum).

The franchise's core ensemble last shared a screen in 2013's Grown Ups 2. Schneider sat that sequel out, making his return here a reunion more than a decade in the making (Men's Journal). Several other familiar faces are back too: Jackie Sandler, Shaquille O'Neal, Colin Quinn, Tim Meadows, Cheri Oteri, Ellen Cleghorne and Nick Swardson all rejoin the franchise (The Hollywood Reporter).

Three newcomers step into the world for the first time: Julie Bowen, Deon Cole and Bailee Madison. The younger generation from the earlier films also returns, including Jake Goldberg, Alexys Nycole Sanchez, Sadie Sandler, Sunny Sandler, Ada-Nicole Sanger, Morgan Gingerich, Kaleo Elam, Nadji Jeter, David Mattle and Kamil McFadden (The Hollywood Reporter).

The original Grown Ups opened in theatres through Sony in June 2010, directed by Dennis Dugan, and grossed more than $270 million worldwide. The 2013 sequel added Andy Samberg, Taylor Lautner and Patrick Schwarzenegger to the cast. For a franchise that began as a straightforward studio comedy sixteen years ago, the move to Netflix tracks with Sandler's broader relationship with the streamer, which has produced and released his films since 2015.
