Adam Sandler posted the first set photo from Grown Ups 3 on Thursday, August 7, 2026, with the caption "We missed you!" — confirming that production on the long-rumoured sequel is now under way for Netflix Deadline.

The image shows Sandler at a restaurant table surrounded by the franchise's familiar faces: Chris Rock, Kevin James, David Spade, Rob Schneider, Salma Hayek, Maya Rudolph, Maria Bello, Bailee Madison, Deon Cole, and Jackie Sandler. Netflix had shared a similar group photo on Instagram the day before, as The Hollywood Reporter first noted on August 6 The Hollywood Reporter.

Netflix announced in May 2026 that the third Grown Ups was in development, but the set photo is the first concrete evidence that cameras are rolling Deadline.

The franchise follows a group of childhood friends who reunite as adults, usually around a chaotic summer getaway. The first two films, both directed by Dennis Dugan and released theatrically by Sony's Columbia Pictures, were modestly budgeted comedy blockbusters — the 2010 original grossed roughly $272 million worldwide, and the 2013 sequel took about $247 million.

This time the distribution model shifts entirely. Grown Ups 3 is a Netflix original, landing on the streaming service rather than in cinemas. Kyle Newacheck directs, taking over from Dugan, working from a script by Sandler and his longtime writing partner Tim Herlihy Deadline.

The move to Netflix is a natural extension of Sandler's relationship with the streamer. Every principal from the earlier films appears to be back at the table, literally and figuratively.
