The rock 'n' roll musical Million Dollar Quartet will transfer to London this autumn, opening at the Arts at Marble Arch: Powered by TodayTix for a limited season from 4 September to 6 December 2026. Press night is set for 15 September. The show arrives in the capital following an extended summer run at the Barn Theatre in Cirencester, where it played from 15 June to 22 August 2025 WhatsOnStage.

Darren Day will reprise his role as Sam Phillips, the record producer known as the "Father of Rock 'n' Roll" who founded Sun Records in Memphis. The remaining London cast is yet to be announced. In the Cirencester revival, Connor Payne played Elvis Presley and Christopher Erasmus played Johnny Cash, with Josh Haberfield as "Fluke" Holland WhatsOnStage; whether any of those performers follow the show to London has not been confirmed.

The musical dramatises a real event. On 4 December 1956, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley gathered at Sun Records in Memphis for what began as an ordinary recording session and became one of rock 'n' roll's most celebrated jam sessions. The score draws on songs recorded by those artists, including "Blue Suede Shoes", "Fever", "Walk the Line" and "Hound Dog" WhatsOnStage.

Jonathan O'Boyle directs, with a book by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux. The creative team includes choreographer Joanna Goodwin, set and costume designer Libby Watson, lighting designer Alex Musgrave, sound designer Nick Lodge and musical supervisor Lee Freeman. The production is staged by the Barn Theatre's Built By Barn producing arm in association with Steve Spiegel and TRW Production WhatsOnStage.

This is not the show's first London outing. Million Dollar Quartet played the Noël Coward Theatre in 2011, following its Broadway opening in 2010, where it earned three Tony Award nominations including Best Musical. Levi Kreis won the Tony for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his performance as Jerry Lee Lewis. A UK tour followed in 2016 and 2017 WhatsOnStage. The Barn Theatre first staged the show in 2022 before reviving it this summer with Day in the lead.

The London engagement fills the Arts at Marble Arch slot after the return of Burlesque the Musical to that venue was postponed at short notice WhatsOnStage.

Iwan Lewis, CEO and artistic director of the Barn Theatre, said the show had "blown the roof off the Barn Theatre" and is "ready to rock London" WhatsOnStage.

For audiences, the draw is straightforward: four of popular music's founding figures crammed into one studio on one night, singing the songs that made them famous. The September opening gives the show a three-month window in central London before the curtain falls in early December.
